    New Engines

I do think it would be nice to see either the new 2.8fsi or 3.6fsi in the A4 range as there's only one V6 petrol model available now. Turbos are all well and good but BMW have the 325i and 330i straight sixes.

    betty swallocks continued....

I can perfectly understand your frustration. I had a hole in the compressor but it had damadged the rest so my bill came to over £2000. Fortunatly the garage did the job at a reduced labour rate and Audi UK contributed £500 in good-will even thought he car was 5 and half years old. I was...

    3.0 V6 Hesitation problems.....

The coil packs were about £28 each -total bill just over £100. If I knew how to do it myself I'd save some money but I'm useless at anything like that! Just glad to be back on the road

    3.0 V6 Hesitation problems.....

Thanks for the feedback folks...after my air-con mishap I'm rather jittery about the car as I've no money left now!! It was the coil packs on cylinders 3 and 4. I drove really gently to the garage keeping it under 2000rpm.

    3.0 V6 Hesitation problems.....

Thanks for the reply. I don't have VAGCOM - I'm also useless at anything other than driving the dam thing, but if it is coilpacks should I just book it in straight away? Or can I drive to the dealer without causing damage?

    3.0 V6 Hesitation problems.....

Hi, this is slightly off-topic but I have just found a problem tonight on my 3.0 V6. It's not so much a hesitation but the car engine seems to be idling roughly and the whole engine is shaking in the bay - not voilently but enough to feel as though someone is shaking the car while idling. This...

    Air-Con Failure...

This may be of interest to some of you. It's not a question, or a complete answer but anyway... Returned from France and my Air-con went to E-con mode on the way back from the airport. Apparently the compressor has corroded and taken out all of the other parts (refrigerator de-humidifier etc)...

Petrol A4 Avant or Diesel A4 Avant???

I'm afraid I only get 320 miles out of a tank in my 3.0 V6 petrol! Once scraped 400 miles out of it though...but i mean scraped - ie 58mph on the motrway everywhere!!! Not much fun. But everytime I get a 1.9TDI courtesy car I remember why I put up with massive fuel costs...not to say that I'm...

    What are people 1st impressions?

The exterior is growing on me. I think the styling looks good from some angles although the blunt nose takes some getting used to. The interior seems to be really nice. However, the lower-specced cloth upholstery makes the interior seem less solid in my opinion....not sure why. I'm not so...

    New Engines

I've just been reading about the new 1.8TFSI engine being available in 120ps guise. While this is a new engine (and I'm sure much cleaner/'greener' than older engines) I've noticed the following... The 1995-2000 A4 had a 125ps naturally aspirated 1.8 Audi have just introduced a 125ps...

    A Brilliant Little Engine

That little A3 looks fantastic - will be interesting to see how people get on with the 1.4T engine. Although it's small, its power output is higher than the previous model with the 1.6 which produced 102(?)bhp or there abouts. 125bhp from this 1.4T is the same output as the 1998 model A4 1.8...

    Which one to go for?

What about an ex-demo car? You can't choose the spec, but I bet you'd make enough of a saving to put the money towards the higher insurance costs. You could still get dealer finance. This would enable you to choose something like the 1.8t fsi or 2.0t fsi (1.4 t is probably still too new...)...
