    Avant rear screen demister

OK - I'll try to add some pics of what I was talking about. First, the aerial amplifier and solder joints inside the trim at the top of the rear window: Here is the aerial amplifier. Apparently there are about six different types so don't assume that this part number is correct for you...

    Avant rear screen demister

OK. The connection to the heating elements is at the top edge of the screen, slightly right of centre. You can prise back the interior trim with your hands or a flat plastic tool starting from the centre, and work outwards. That allows a good look at the solder connections. You could also check...

    Avant rear screen demister

OK - haven't fixed it yet, but have some info which might help yours. Is yours an Avant?

    Avant rear screen demister

I am also interested in this. On Saturday my rear demist (A4 B8 Avant MY2010) stopped working altogether. I just did a VCDS scan and got: 02983 Connection between impedance converter 1 and window 011 - Open Circuit. So I'm thinking that there's probably a connector which does both window heat...

    2.0TDi 143 poor MPG

What average MPG do you get over a tank? The trip computer range calculations are a bit dodgy - I never end up getting as many miles out of a tank as it predicts with a full tank.

    V-power diesel benefits?

I think it does give a slight increase in MPG over Shell Fuelsave based on brim-to-brim calculations, but maybe only 1-2 MPG. This isn't enough to compensate for the higher price! As for power, I can't really notice any difference, though some think the engine sounds smoother.

    Steering shudder at low speeds

I had something like this when I bought mine, and researched it quite a bit. From memory, it was the earlier models with servotronic steering which were affected, built roughly summer - November 2009. The new hose seemed to fix it for many people - I'm sure a phone call to the Audi parts...

NEED HELP -Wanting to buy a4 s line estate 2007-2008- NEED HELP

If you're going for a manual, watch out for any sign of judder from the clutch when pulling away - the dual mass flywheels seem to have a tendency of failing and can be expensive! Also listen out for noisy wheel bearings - obviously not so serious, but still a pain and they seem to go prematurely.

    Drivers Door Creaking Noise. (Aaaarrrgh!)

As an update, I actually replaced the above-mentioned bit of trim some time ago, and the creak's still there. So back to square one!

    Drivers Door Creaking Noise. (Aaaarrrgh!)

I think I've identified the source of the rest of my creaking noise. It's the cloth-covered bit of trim covering the seat belt slider on the B pillar. It creaks when I go over bigger bumps. What I haven't been able to do is to cure it! It comes off very easily by peeling the door seal out of...

    Drivers Door Creaking Noise. (Aaaarrrgh!)

As easy as that! Must have missed that. I'll grab one before I try that again. For anyone else, here's a link: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductMobileDisplay?catalogId=10151&storeId=10001&productId=168943&categoryId=255215&langId=-1

Where can you buy the correct tool? Must admit it felt wrong with the torx.

    Drivers Door Creaking Noise. (Aaaarrrgh!)

As NHN said, I recently moved the striker plate in by around 2mm and cured 80% of the problem. Haven't had time to try whether another mm or two will solve the rest. By the way, a normal torx will fit the bolts just about well enough to do the job :-/
