    Indicator / Hazard relay

A quick question, so hopefully a quick answer! I've just had what appears to be the standard relay failure, ie: indicators flash once at the most, and hazards have same symptoms. Question is, where is the relay - behind hazard switch or in the relay box below steering wheel. Also, could...

    Yet another cambelt question

Thanks for the replies - looks like a unanimous YES. HTC - I was wondering same thing - if it was replaced with a metal one, does that mean I can leave it until the next belt change at 200,000! Cheers Rich

    Yet another cambelt question

It's coming up to cambelt change time - again, up to 152,000 miles now. The question is - should I get the water pump changed again, it was replaced with the last belt change, at about 80,000. Car is 1.8T. Thanks in advance. Rich

    Mileage on A3 Turbo's

Couple of days late - but thought I'd chip in: My '98 1.8T has 128K and apart from the damn rattly seat, is going strong. Just changed the battery for 1st time, and other than a fuel relay letting me down - no major probs, that's the kiss of death... R.

Couple of Questionds, Brakes and radio

Monkey boy Please tell me the aerial relay isn't behind the fuse box, as I only put it all back together this morning after faffing with the fuel relay, and I HATE all those bolts... Rich

    A3/S3 seat problems

Vikz Just had a look at mine, I'm with you - no sign of them. Is your seat loose on the mountings, or the mountings loose on the chassis? Might help to narrow down what we are looking for. R

Couple of Questionds, Brakes and radio

The copper grease needs to go on the pins and/or the rear of the pads. Not on the mating surfaces - obviously. I've got the opposite radio problem, FM excellent, MW/LW awful. Also worse when it's cold - choke interference or something similar maybe? R

    Here's a funny thing...

Thanks guys Have been trawling through past threads, and coilpack failures seem to crop up frequently. Worth changing even if it isn't the culprit this time as car has done over 120k?? Cheers Rich

    Here's a funny thing...

Thanks madvw, but battery was strong - was more like a fuel relay as engine turned over but no spark - possibly. But then engine compartment stunk of fuel, so wasn't that. Car did get very damp overnight, but no different from any other night really. Anyway, starts now, so until next time.... R.

    Here's a funny thing...

My '98 1.8T wouldn't start this morning - althought that isn't the funny bit - that was a pain in the A. However it's now going but the trip meter and computer have zeroed themselves. Apart from swearing a lot and trying the ignition repeatedly over a few hours - I did nothing else. Any thoughts...

    fuel pump relay

Thanks Steve Had to use dealer as I'm 500 miles from home at the moment - but they got the part overnight - which was good, but £22 for a relay - which was bad! Still, up and running now, so can enjoy the empty roads of North Scotland. Rich

    fuel pump relay

98 1.8T My relay has given up - do I need to go to a dealer for a new one, or will "John Smith Motors" be able to help me out at a fraction of the cost? I have the offending article in my sweaty palm so can take it with me. Thanks in advance. Rich

    whats it do?

Looks like a new unit needed then, but since I've survived with no light for about 5 years, I won't rush out and buy one. Ta, Rich
