just been on vagcat and the pinion gear set is the same part number on both box's so the diff ratio must be the same. great!

so the 1.8q will be ok but lower geared it 5th? already on my second box both have knackered 1st gears, really whine, then today lots of crunching!

i have some 98 quattro output flanges that knock into the front diff is this what your after?

I used a small g-clamp and a pair of mole grips to turn the pad on the g-clamp worked just!
