Prior to the B8 model, it was easy to retrofit an ISOFIX bar with as you stated a bolt in bar. This was changed for what ever reason on the B8, it is now welded to the chassis.
Apologies for the late reply, I have not been on my e-mail for a while. No isofix is not standard on Audi cars any more. It is a free option, but if you don't choose it, then you don't get it.
A status update on my side. Well I can't get isofix on the back seats. I lifted the seats as stated...

Just to confirm, are you saying that the isofix bars are there, but in effect inside the material?
