Now up on ebay as weather has not provided better photo opportunity.
Going to be listing my A3 this later this week on Ebay once I taken some better photos. If anyone is interested or knows someone that it may suit then please let me know. My add will read like this;
Audi A3 1.9 TDI Quattro Sport 3 Door Hatch
2002 Model
Totally Original with a nice selection...
yes, was sat somewhere safe and had not done any damage elsewhere thank god(done about 50 miles in that state)
Has gone in with plenty of room, and the selector dog doesn't interfere with it when selecting reverse(as thats where its likely to be in the way), time get in back together me thinks...
Just had a read through that this morning, very helpful thank you.
I managed the removal last night, bolted and tack welded, rebuild this evening hopefully,
well box is out an i think a bruised a ribs in the process, car was probably a bit high and i underestimated the weight as i loaded it onto my chest, time to split it open and get this repair done me thinks. is there a best way to strip apart i.e. clutch housing side up or down when splitting...
did I miss read this
got G/box free from engine and transfer box(rear output shaft still attached), but struggling for room to clear drive shaft through transfer box and flywheel(should i have dropped subframe). back on it tomorrow eve, hopefully it doesn't drop of in the night.......(don't...
Sounds good, boxed drained and I have already got the long allen key made up today, looking at sketchy illustration on vagcat i'm guessing its the o/s drive cup connecting through to the diff?
getting into the swing of things after stag weekend(so couldn't face the smell of box oil with a hangover on Sunday), whats the best way to separate transfer box....? Do I leave box attached to rear output shaft, or disconnect shaft and remove transfer box and gearbox together?
In which case...
yeah, it'll be repair job for me, looks like i'm gonna need to buy that long reach allen key too as don't think mine will manage it.
i'm guessing i'm gonna be replacing the sheared rivet with a bolt, so the outlay is minimised, sadly the couple of evenings in the garage was not on the agenda...
