    Brake woes

Solved! It was the master cylinder. On the bench no fluid was passing through to the fluid pipes at all. It seems that when I was pressing the brake pedal t was actually emptying out the brake fluid back into the reservoir. New MC, flushed, bled (gunson eezibleed is like a godsend) and all...

    Brake woes

If I blow into the reservoir holes in the mc, it's sealed and nothing comes out. I can only blow into them when I press the mc pin as if I was pressing the pedal, so perhaps I've found my issue. Frustratingly it seems to be put together with a circlip that has no real way of removal so it...

    Brake woes

Right. Got a new reservoir and a pressure bleeder. Even with the pressure bleeder on, there's no fluid coming out of the nipple. Nothing. Could the mc seal have flipped and it is drawing a vacuum on the return of the pedal instead of sucking out of the reservoir? So frustrated.

    Brake woes

sorted, filled and bled and on the car. Literally the only thing I've found amiss is a knackered reservoir. It's literally full of holes and hoping somehow it's affected the way the fluid gets into the lines? Can't see how. Waiting on a call back from the scrapyard down the road so might be in...

    Brake woes

Forget it, it's off. Suspect that something's amiss, when depressing the piston on the mc no fluid is coming out of the ports. Gonna try and bench bleed it and if not it's getting stripped down

    Brake woes

Just got the reservoir off and it's collapsing, all cracked to buggery. I'm going to have to take the mc off and have a look. Do they come off by themselves or do I need to pull the servo too?

    Brake woes

I'm draining the reservoir now to see if there's a blockage as then mc looks brand new. I have no access to a vac bleeder so I'll have to do it the old fashioned way. I just came out to it and connected a hose with fluid in it to the caliper nipple, cracked the nipple and it sucked fluid...

    Brake woes

Right, some progress. I swapped out the brake bleed nipple and i managed to get fluid from the caliper. Progress, I presume that it was letting air in. However with the nipple tight the caliper is still not gripping the disk so I must still have plenty of air in there. I have noticed a...

    Brake woes

I presume my system is now full of air but there doesn't seem to be any excess fluid in the reservoir. Pedal has no pressure behind it. All this from one caliper..

    Brake woes

I'm more confused today. I replaced the brake hose however the old one was fine.. no fluid out of the metal hose. All bone dry. The pedal has pressure when you press it, then if you immediately press it again there's nothing. Wait ten seconds and there's pressure again. I tried the two man...

    Brake woes

Not had chance yet, however the brakes were working fine before I removed the caliper. I think it could have sucked up air like a non return valve and not expelled fluid. I'm hoping that I pull the hose off tomorrow and fluid comes out if the union on the main pipe, because if it doesn't I...

    Brake woes

Right this is an odd one. I had a sticky caliper so replaced it today, but weirdly when i took the flexy off the caliper there was no fluid leaking. I had it clamped, but expected a bit at least. Caliper works fine as it was tested on the bench before I fitted it. So now it's on I went to...

    urgent brake caliper question

Thanks guys, I would give the calipers a blast however time is not on my side as it's a daily driver. I could do with just unbolting and replacing. I'm gonna triple check it's not the sliders first then I'll whip you a pm. Thanks

    urgent brake caliper question

If you have any calipers for sale Aragon I definitely would be interested. I was tempted by second hand ones on eBay however I couldn't guarantee the size nor if they would do the exact same thing!
