Just removed the old one and found the part code. As above.

The strut that holds up the bonnet has decided to fail. Found the part on euro car parts for around £35 but wanted to see how much the VAG part was. Has anyone had the same issue and if so what replacement part did you use? If using a VAG part do you have the part number? Cheers.

Thing is the tensioner was changed and the chains still now need replacing! From what I've been reading the tfsi engines have lots of known issues and Audi know about them. Nice cash cow for them when they start having issues just outside of warranty.

Just had to have my timing chains replaced on my 10 plate A3 with 63k on the clock. Had the Timing chain tensioner replaced at 43k under warranty. Car was sounding rough on a cold start when it had the tensioner replaced. Started to sound awful again recently so took back in to Audi get it...

Just placed a "wanted" add on here and had a look on eBay to find a new black front bumper. Thinking of trying to replace myself and looks quite straight forward in ELSA. Can anyone advise if this is the case? Also any idea of costs would be useful. Cheers

Got a new one (A8P0 853 742 2Z Z - AUDI SIGN) for £16.34 from local dealer.

Luckily I can see where it was positioned by the marks left in the salt and grit that has built up today. Having said that I suppose I better wash it at some point and will obviously loose the glue marks - thanks for the info re the diagrams. I glanced in the rear view mirror to see him drop...

Got stuck in the snow this morning on a steep hill and thankfully two helpful men helped to dig me out, turn me round and give me a push. Was obviously very grateful but unfortunately one of them completely stacked it and face planted the road when giving me a push...made sure he was all right...
