perhaps i have been a little harsh on the vorsprung durch technik.... it is officially 'on the road' at the moment and not in the garage and the wife said she even 'enjoyed driving it' yesterday.

sorry i had a large portion of my tongue in my cheek there....i just got the vide from another thread that serious mechanical failures are to be expected if you are stupid enough to buy a car with 120k on the clock.

coolant loss seemingly sorted, but only driven for a week with new EGR and rad... the porous head is just wear and tear and to be expected apparently.

why should a 120k 4 year old car be dead and buried, i've had many other cars subject to much harder driving that have stood upto 100k?!?! as for buying new, the a3 was always going to be my beater, i bought my S2K new....and that cost less than a half decent spec'd A3.... if Audi's only last...

From what i read, I am far from alone in owning a banger with 4 rings on the front! just a shame i didn't read all the doom and gloom before i bought it! Fair play to Audi tho, they sell thousands of the things then rake it in when they all break and need fixing....

cheers for reply, got it going just now, engine was turning just not firing, hooked it up to another (jump leads) and span it for about 2 mins, it finally spluttered into life....mechanic reckon fuel starvation at 1/4 tank..... The car was serviced at Audi in november so i felt no need to...

thats rediculous??? who wants a car that is prone to breaking down even if its covered under warranty....you'll spend hours / days of your time and fuel taking the thinkg to the garage to be repaierd all the time just cause they skimped on the costs and design in the first place. I think its a...
