    Stop / Start not working

Worth getting the battery checked out. Was the first sign on my Q3 that the battery had a dodgy cell. New battery and start stop was working again

    Insurance Advice Needed

Had a windscreen and £25k unrecovered theft claim on my insurance when a pillock drove in to the side of the new car last May. Renewal premium went up by £2. If fully recovered it should have minimal impact on your premium.

    My doubts seem confirmed

From memory, was about 22k, maybe a touch more. I do around 12k a year. I had the odd bit of fun with it, but not driven overly hard and never launched (by me!!). It was a MY15 64 plate S3 Saloon owned from new. There seems to be a lot of mention of 64 plates in this tread.

    My doubts seem confirmed

I had the Haldex fail on a S3 at about 2 years old. First spotted it pulling out of a junction with a slight upwards incline. I could easily recreate it in the dry on any upward incline and accelerating hard. The car would bounce for a couple of seconds then launch

    Facelift RS3 Haldex Problem?

“...never see the TC light and never experienced any bounce / wheel spin. ” Well your obviously not trying hard enough :)

    Facelift RS3 Haldex Problem?

Well, not having sat in your car when it happens, I can’t say “exactly” :) Basically, if I hit the go pedal a reasonable amount, there would be a pause for a moment, a kind of noticeable, but not too loud, grinding bang then either the car would go, or the TC light would flash and then go, or...

    Facelift RS3 Haldex Problem?

Had the same issue on the S3 at around 18 months or so. Was identified as an issue with the Haldex pump. Repaired under warranty with no issues. Never happened again for the remainder of the time I had it. There is a thread on here somewhere with more details about it

    Carjacked

Yep. Got very close to getting this installed via one of their recommended installers. Was advised of the legal position very late in the process so cancelled. Shame really. I have heard rumours on a few forums of an alternative that basically puts the car in limp mode. Kind of half way...

    Carjacked

Sadly completely illegal in the UK. During my research after the event i found a number of legal options, mainly as part of a tracker solution. All are triggered under Police approval.

It wasn’t far off. The car had one stone chip on the bonnet and a slight (ahem!) scuff on drivers front wheel that I had hadn’t dealt with yet. Other than that, spotless. Even taking the car as spotless, the payout was more than fair, which is more than I could say for the insurance renewal...

Hi Chris S 1245 The car was never recovered and the scrotes never caught. Police really weren’t interested in the slightest, a couple of email “updates” that said jack all. It’s no wonder it is a growing business. Insurance company were actually quite good after the initial crap of a multitude...

How much more petrol does Sport mode uses?

Common sense would say sport would use more fuel, but that isn’t always the case. With my S3 it used about 8% more on similar use on a 1000 mile test. With my Q3, it uses around 12% less fuel. With the Q3 the heat changes in Drive mode seem laboured and more frequently change up then back down...

S32b. I get your point, and mostly agree but there are a number of factors in my thoughts; I was already thinking of downgrading. I was bored of the S3 anyway, and didn't really use or need the speed/power. I've also realised the base spec of Audi's is pretty poor. Other half's sister got a...

Insurance is turning in to a PITA. Broker, underwriter and now the claims handler! No wonder insurance costs so much Audi Ensurance was no help. Can't log a claim at the weekend (not what I'd call 24/7) and do not cover stolen vehicles despite the policy booklet saying they do. They'd like me...
