Spot on! Used a voltage meter to check the switch for continuity. I then worked out what wires were what then bridged the wires with a staple hey presto the roof opened. I then stripped the switch and one of the metal contacts had moved, re-aligned them refitted all parts and now works...

Hi, The wheels are 18" I probably would have gone for 19" if they were for the A4 but they seemed big enough for my A3 at the time, plus i didnt have to lower the suspension or anything. Cheers

H sounds like the switch to me too. I had a similar prob on my TT when the clutch pedal broke, i fixed the pedal with a nice weld but pushed in the switch you are talkin about thus making gear changes look as if i was wearing stillettos (I wasnt honest) anyway i bougt a switch only to find it...
