My audi a3 starting jittering, on the way back from tesco....the tesco jinx strikes Anyway, it just cut off on me. Waited for AA and seen the crank sensor showing up on diagnostic. Great. Garage job and Ill buy the sensor from an independent parts shop.

Any idea guys on the lambda probe though; which one would the fault code 00537 refer to, before or after catalytic? tnx

Well, dealer in this case, was referred to Audi dealer and the prices they charge for diagnostics! I'm sure you agree, as in my initial post, they are a con!!! What with plugging the machine to the ECU and getting readings off, print and pay £70+

Its not the oil sensor fault.

Bum! Fault code 00537 still there. Question: Which Lambda does this point to? Before or After Catalytic Convertor? Thanks.

Was told on weekend by a garage, its condensation because of winter. :-/

Not really. I did previously, but that was because of leaks coming out of everywhere (except my b@ckside) :o

Thanks Westy. Unfortunately, its been going on since last summer, but wasn't a concern then. Now, it builds up quite abit.

I drive the car every day, roughly 30+ miles. No residue/gunk on dipstick either. I clean the cap and it comes back, but I don't check it immediately after a run mind you.

Hi folks. Couldn't find an existing post on my issue already so posting question. Under my oil cap of Audi A3 1.6, theres a yellow residue. I clean it up and still comes back. Now, I had the oil changed and had emptied cleaner solution inside and left engine running (as it says on the tin)...

it was brand new..

Could that have failed already when it was only fitted in May?! :-/ Stat was fitted in April..

Whats CTS? Where does it go? Heats coming out ok. Bought the stat from local motor shop.

Hello, Just recently (about a week or so now), my temp guage isn't going up and the electronic reading is not going above 60. Hover between 50-60. Only when the car is idle will it sneek up above 60. Even the coolant is not getting boiling hot (so to speak). Had thermostat and temp sensor...
