Yes,
After Fontain failed to fix the problem, after blaiming it on a worn sump washer even when the leak was originating from the breather pipe something like a foot higher and thee away to the side, I took it to another local mechanic. They warmed the car up, drained the old (2 weeks)...
Thanks for your pictures Sandip, Ive not seen the mounts fail like that before. Looks like the mounting bolt washers were missing or too thin, allowing the bolt heads to pull through the door frame. Usually it is the tubular pivot that snaps leaving half the assembley on the car.
Marking...
I have recently had a basic variable service at Fontain including a haldex oil change.

The oil seems to originate from a pipe mounted into the subframe behind the near-side...
There is recent-ish, British film about some pilot dude who gets himself sent down to avenge his wife's rape and murder, can't remember the name though. Good film, was on Sky Movies a year ago or so.
If its broken in the way the thieves snap them to steal then no, not really the bracket is sprung loaded and not easy/safe to reassemble, so Audi only sell the whole part including mirror cover. See if you can get one from scrap and transfer your cover etc.
A couple of gents had a go at mine again last Monday at about 11pm, both where Asian, ~6' tall, one with a shaven head, the other spiked up hair.
They were in a silver Mini (new shape).
I've got a feeling I saw them hanging around in the street the day before in a silver convertible 3 series...
In my experience that is incorrect. My friend has not been back to steal mine for well over a year now after he realised he could not cut them from the car last time.
I'd have to question these 30/40 mph statistics.
How many kids did they run into in the laboratory at precisely 30 mph and 40 mph to produce these figures?
Wouldn't bother with etching/stamping the number plate, someone still tried to knick mine again with it clearly visible on the top.
The cabling did mean he only snapped the passengers side off before realising he couldnt take them away and fu@ked off empty handed. I'd highly recommend it...
