I cleaned the MAF with electrical cleaner. it's made no difference.

I think my MPG is poor anyway. I get about 320 miles from a full tank.

Cheers for the info. I have already run a vagcom scan... no error codes! Where would the idle control valve be? also whats a TB? I'm not really up on all the tech speak yet.

Right, well I removed it, cleaned it, dried it. still the same clicking. Idle still wobbly especially when at junctions and preesing the clutch... what now?

oh okay, I read in a thread somewhere that they can become blocked and can make the idle a bit rough. whats th best way of cleaning it out?

Can anyone tell me what the small solenoid on top of the airbox is called on a 1.8t AEB engine form a 1997 A4? Mines seems to be ticking/clicking. I was told it's called a charcoal filter and has something to do with fuel. Many thanks

Hi, I have the same problem with mine, little bit of "mayonaise" as someone called it. Only in the winter though. summer is fine... I just wipe it off and any other residue that I can see.

Well I've ordered a new n75 valve. it's an uprated one. should arrive wednesday. we'll se if that cures it. should do for £70.

Not today, I've only just re-aligned the throttle body, would you suggest that then?
