Know anyone in Bury St Edmunds who will do that? :)
Yeah, I know but I needed to have it checked ASAP as I didn't know what the problem was.
Yep, EGT may be where the problem is alright. See this thread. This is why I need more info on EGT vs EGR. The guy at Kwik-Fit said that the EGR would...
So my A3 2.0L TDI quattro (170 PS) has the engine management light on constantly and the glowplug light is occasionally flashing. I took it for diagnostics at Kwik-fit (the only people who could see me at the time) and it gave two codes.

Seems suspiciously cheap tbh...although I checked the price of chewits and they have gone up a lot since I was a kid!!!
[/B]Yeah, seems to be a lot of different prices in this thread though.
And this is why I asked here, to get the real skinny on costs, not what the Audi website tells me :)...
Hi all, my cambelt is due for a change in 4k miles. Just wondering what I should be expecting to pay. I'd rather get it done at my Audi dealer but if people could give me an idea of what they have been quoted or what they've paid already, either Audi or independent. Let me know.
So I had a car service on Wednesday and had new brake pads and discs fitted to both rear wheels.
My commute home is about 35 mins, 95 percent of which is all high quality dual carriageway. Yesterday, I was driving home and stopped at some traffic lights close to home and as I was looking in...
Ha ha, no, I'll not trade it for £10,300 but if I do, I'll call you. :) I think I'll just call back to him and talk through what he'd be willing to offer me against an Audi approved A4. My wife doesn't want a sports model again as the ride is too firm (insert wife-riding joke here), so I guess...
Just under 55k b19, not a lot, pretty average for a 3 year old I's have thought. :) Also, no mods on mine that might scare off the average punter looking for a regular car...unlike some I could mention:laugh:
I've never sold privately so don't really fancy the hassle and wouldn't know where to...
I'm speechless! I'm not into modified cars at all but this is seriously good work and your car looks amazing. This is how mods should be done, not massive spoilers on a Pugeot 206 :)
Very nice car. Congratulations on a job well done! Only thought I have is that with all the money you're...
So I had a service yesterday and asked the Audi dealer to value my car.

When I collected the car he told me that it was unusually well maintained and looked after for a quattro car, a couple of...
My A3 2.0L TDI (170PS) quattro (facelifted version) has had two services (long-life oil) since it was bought from new in September 2008.
The A3 manual isn't very clear on what is checked at service and the invoices don't really show anything other than the work done for changing oil etc.
So...
Well glad to see I'm not alone, misery loves company
I should have stated in my original post so long ago that the car was parked on a fairly steep incline in our car park at work. So had I not applied the handbrake properly the car should have at least faltered a little as I was...
So I'm not as clued in as I should be on what happens during a car service.
I know that they check oil, coolant levels etc but do they check the brakes and brake pads? I've had my A3 (125kW quattro) since September 2008 and haven't seen any mention of having brake pads replaced (despite some...
The Republic of Ireland is a different country to Northern Ireland (legally) and different to the UK. Drivers with a French or German license can't get points on their licence for offences committed in the UK. Likewise a UK driver in France or Ireland can't get points on his/her license...
It's offering fixed penalty and 3 points, no court date. However, you can't get points on an Irish license (Irish Republic) so that's why I'm wondering will we end up in court?
This site has a Q&A but when you try to click on the Q 'I have a non-UK driving licence, what do I do?' you get no...
Hi all,
Arrived home this evening to discover a letter in the door from Suffolk SafeCam telling us that my wife was caught doing 79 in a 70 zone and this was a notice of prosecution. My wife drives on an Irish licence.
With neither of us ever having been caught speeding in the UK before I...
