Help! Was driving my above mentioned car on Fri night when I had sudden power loss whilst overtaking a slower car! Symptoms were slight miss in power,then a complete Smoke billowing out. I immediately pulled over and switched off car as engine started to rev up.Got car towed to mates garage...

My 2006 1.4tdi lost sudden power, then billowed out lots of smoke whilst driving! Symptoms were slight hesitation, then smoke everywhere..I was able to pull over safely and the engine started to rev up. I switched off immediately. Now that you mention it,it did seem to come in earlier.The limp mode seems to occur when you accelerate over 60mph
