Dash removal for matrix display replacement

Thanks for that. Pretty decent service by the looks of it. Pity they're half way across the country though - just wondering if it's maybe only a couple of hours work I might try and take the dash out myself. Has anyone on here done it? Is it a complete pain in the a...?! Nik

Dash removal for matrix display replacement

Apologies if this is a common request - I did a quick search but didn't turn anything up. How much of a job is it to get the dash out to replace the matrix display? It's pretty much the only thing not working properly in my car (aside from a/c which is being done on Friday) and it annoys the...

£15?! :D No faults - it's had a scuff on the front wing that's being repaired next week, I'm probably going to get the wheels refurbed, it's having a replacement aircon compressor fitted on friday, and it's just had an MoT and service. And the cambelt and w/pump were done just before I bought...

So anyway, what would be the going rate for a very tidy '99 S3 with 125k on the clock, drives like new, goes like stink, with a very comprehensive service history, and a few tasteful mods (lowered, wheels, remapped, filter)? I await lots of offers of "I'll give you a fiver for it!" :D

You speak a lot of sense. Wheels will probably get refurbed - rest of the car looks great! Off to look at TDi's on eBay :)

Looks interesting, thanks!! I guess the thing for me is that I have bikes for playing and the car is more of a tool - albeit one that I want to enjoy driving. Don't get me wrong, I love driving, and I love cars, but because I do a lot of work miles I need to have something to maximise my mileage...

Ok, no one's biting , so I'll throw a spanner in the works... As I use my car for work, how difficult/expensive would it be to swap to a Diesel engine?! Seriously! A torquey diesel would be perfect, and means I get to keep the fun of driving my S3, but with the sensible running costs I need.

Hello people, Just joined - I've got a '99 S3 that I bought at the end of March, and have since put 10,000 miles on it! Long story, but I've got a new job where I cover the South West Uk, and use the car for business. Fortunately it's been extremely reliable, although not the most efficient...
