I have an intermittent starting fault. As soon as i start the car it dies immediately, this only happens 50% of the time when starting. If i release the steering wheel, pull the wheel back and bang it back into place, the car will then start. Anybody have any clues please before i get the...

Need to replace my outer cv boot on my a4. Could anybody tell me the torque setting? Iv'e looked about and the figures iv'e read vary wildly, some including a torque of different amounts then a degree of different amounts:confused:

Bit of an update. Got round to fitting the coolant temp sensor(no skin left on the back of me my hands) Went to start and exactly the same thing happened(cut out after a second). Loosened the wheel, gave the column a couple of sharp up and downs, went to start and ****** me, Bingo. No issues...

Looks like fun.. Still the best looking car that broke the mould in my opinion:hubbahubba: My things motorbikes to be honest but anything with an engine sits well with me:rockwoot:

I'll do that. It was just my worry that the ECU had imploded as it did at 18000 miles and the cars just turned 38000

I'm afraid i can't help you with this purely because it sounds very similar to what mines been doing for the last 9 months although sometimes it would fire and run for a second and then cut out, eventually it would always start, problem is mine wont start at all now. Just ordered a coolant...
