Just closing this one off. I changed the wheel bearing yesterday and the creaking noise has thankfully gone.
Not sure how long the bearings last generally but it was an original fitment and the car has covered 72,000 miles.
Thanks for the reply, I ended up buying some new front disks which didn’t solve it.
It was quiet for a mile or two, and I managed to break the pad wear indicator.
Further investigation pointing to the front n/s wheel bearing.

I'd say £10 to 11k is optimistic, I've just sold my 2.0 TFSI quattro S Line Avant 72k miles with sat nav/bose and loads of other bits and only got £10400.
I know its got lowish miles but I'd pitch it at £9995 to get any hope of interest

sorry just re-read the bottom bit of your original post. Is yours bad on fuel then? You should be getting a minimum of about 40mpg even with heavy town driving, if it worse than that, maybe the MAF sensor is faulty or on its way out. Get it plugged into a diagnostics machine if you can...

It constantly monitors your driving so if you had been driving uneconomically when you fill up then it will assume you are going to carry on driving it hard and therefore tell you the range. If you are driving it gently when you fill up however I'd be expecting your range to be somewhere...

If you've got the choice I'd go for the quattro, totally sure footed at all times, from what I know/previous high powered 2wd and speaking to other people, chipping the 2wd just results in slippage in anything other than perfect conditions.

i'm a dumb ****, just looked at the info sheet, the DV is fitted to the turbo housing itself not a hose as I said. Its about a 30 mins job to do and the undertray needs to be taken off to access the relevant area. Its almost impossible to do this job from above.

Its located to the front of the engine on the airbox side of the engine bay attached to a hose coming directly off the turbo. There is a fitting guide on the forge website to fit the DV spacer and the actual Diverter Valve needs to be removed to fit this.
