well after checking the water temp using the climate control I found thet my water temp is runing at 105 deg some of the time and the rest at around 90-95. The engine temp using chanel 51 on climate control is steady at 75 deg after reaching norm temp. Know can someone tell me if this is norm...

Is the temp sender that sits on a hose pipe next to the head? and do you know if there is any other temp sensors on the engine?

Any one can shed a light on this When driving my A3 1.8T the temp is steady on 90 deg When I park the car with the engine switched off I pop to the shop for a couple of minites. I switch the ignition on and I see the temp gone to 110 deg Istart the engine rev it up a little the temp back to norm...

On the head of the engine there is a plastic manifold where the top hose of the rad connects passing water to the engine and heater etc. Mine had a small crack on it lossing water only when the engine reached normal temp the water leak was not easy to see, check this it may be the same problem.

Does any one know if the 1.8T engine have a second stat to control water flow apart of the main stat.

What do you mean small circuit? And you mean we have 2 stats to control water flow? If so where do we find the second stat the main stat is on the block under the manifold blcking flow to the rad Please help me understand
