    Dreaded number plate screws.....

A small slit on the housing is fine by me, my logic was 1. You cant see it anyway and 2. Less risky than drilling/ buggering the whole trim Depends how bothered you are about something only you would know was there i suppose

    Dreaded number plate screws.....

    What would you do

Dont worry i just saw the last thread 145k! Quite high mileage, but still if its fixed i would of thought it'd be fine for many more years!

    What would you do

Ah my apologies! That might hinder you just a tad! As a personal thing i'd be struggling between heart and head, i love the way the a4 drives and looks, i dont have a 3.0 but have wanted one since before i bought mine! But im dure if i did the heart would say fix it, but the head would say...

    What would you do

On a personal front, if i had the money+space, id buy something cheap as a run around, take the a4 off the road and start doing the work myself, rather than pay £2500 on a car thats worth £5000 plus the fact you've spent £2500 already. That way you'll learn about the car more, you'll know...

How do I lower my b7?

Exactly this, it all just seems unnecassary work if all you're doing is swapping the shock/spring. Ajax i think it was a comment i saw from you that made me use a strap! Cheers chappy!

How do I lower my b7?

I didnt touch any of the control arms at all, I weaved a ratchet strap through the coils (mainly because its easier to access that area with a strap than with compressors) un did the shock at the bottom, compressed the spring with the ratchet strap, un-done the 3 top mount bolts and Swing the...

How do I lower my b7?

This is a very long way round and i guarantee that those upper control arm bolts will not move, as i said above, no touchy! Its easy for these guys because im sure they dissassemble all of the parts before the video is made, its a bit deceptive in how easy they make it look!
