Is the Steering intermediate shaft Universal joint a replaceable item, is it detachable from the rest of the column ?

How do I check no of Sats ?
I have VCDS but when I tried clicking 'Navigation' on VCDS it wouldn't communicate with controller.
Also autoscan did not throw up anything.
In regards to DVD drive that's for Media not Sat Nav I'm 99% sure mines a HDD
Also to add to previous post VCDS will not communicate with Navigation when you click on respective button on VCDS screen.
No errors showing on auto scan ???
My Sat Nav will not give me GPS position so Sat Nav will not work. I can enter address but the signal will not pick up.

I have a saloon 59' Le Mans edition, VCDS is pointing to the left rear sensor. Is it the same procedure ? No bumper removal ?
Also when unclipping harness is there a release tag below top or on side if plug ?
When removing the sensor what retains it in the mount and do you have to twist sensor...

How do I perform test on glow plugs using multi meter what am I looking for ? Also is there a way of testing the harness ?
If they are shot how to change them without breaking them ?

I have similar problem with regards to pungent excessive white smoke, if glow plugs were shot wound t the car struggle to start or the glow plug light stay on longer ?
Glow plugs no issues starts on the button also no codes also temperature warm up matches with VCDS and with new Stat warms up bang on heat in cabin corresponds to temp.
I even performed Output tests on EGR could hear it open and close next thing I need to know how to go about performing real...
I've checked VCDS but no fault codes how would I test using live data where or what buttons would I look to see live data regarding emissions ? Or EGR info ?
I did sweep test I could hear the stepper motor struggle as it went from 4.5 k where it was stuck to all the way around. The needle settled back at 1k and when you start car it shows 2.5k lol oh well slightly Better than before.
