I have just had a new rod end put in it, thats why i was wondering if it could leak from anywhere else as the garage has said it is new rack time.

both please, just so I know how much to expect.

Quick question, I have a 98 1.8T and have a leak from my NS track rod end, I have recently had the track rod replaced and it is still leaking so it cant be that seal, is there another internal rack seal or is it new rack time? P.S How much are new racks if I have to rob a bank to get it...

Ive just tried to get to its, can anyone who has taken one out give me some guidence. I have got the scuttle panel off and one of the nuts, think im going to have to buy a smaller wobble bar to get to the other, even taking off the wiper linkage i still cant get to it

Cheers mate, going to take it out and look for any signs of water. It was sat on the drive today for 15 mins on idle before it cut out, but it can be a matter on mins sometimes. I need to find someones laptop so i can plug VAG-COM in

i did it without removing the pipes, just put some grease on the bolts when putting it back, means they stuck on an angle to the end of the ratchet. Bit of an **** but possible, trial and error

Any help would be appeciated. I have a 99 1.8T (cable throttle). On the way home today it just cut out, It then wont start untill i wait about 5 mins. Then it starts first time and drives fine. It will the cut out again at random. Its as if all is lost from the ECU. So i thought it was the...

i hyave this problem on mine, the wobbling is cause by the track rod end on the rack side. Just havent got round to fixing it yet :mad:

its ok i just put the code back in as normal and it worked, note to self, dont mess with vag-com when dont know what doing!

When messing about with VAG COM, v409.1, i was just checking radio and click on login, but then clicked on do it when the code was 00000 and now radio just says SAFE. Code it wants is 5 no's long so cant be radio code. Anyone know how i can get it working again, driving to work with no radio is...

Thinking of buying a DV30 to replace my plastic DV, just wondering about fitting this to a standard engine, will i have enough boost to open the piston and dump? Thanks Paul
