mine doesn't grind just clonks,a bit like the sound you would get with a knackered engine mount, it also doesn't knock when transferring weight from side to side but more forwards and backwards .for example it wont knock over a speedbump but will knock like hell going up a drop kerb or rough...

mine does the same when lifting the clutch in reverse and sometimes 1st to 2nd when turning on roundabouts etc ,so it could be the same problem

i need to find a late 94 coupe fuel pump, its the smaller 35mm dia in tank type for the 16v ace engine. i tried g.s.f but they no longer stock them and my local main dealer wants £151 +vat .i nearly choked. anyone else found an alternative source . cheers. dazza

had a very similar starting problem with mine it would just turn over and flood itself ,it turned out to be the temp sender at the back of the head ,cost about £17 to replace. if have you noticed any problems with the temp gauge then change this.

changed the coolant sensor on monday and its been good as gold all week . thanks to all those of you who posted. nice one

still havent got round to changing the sensor and the fecking things got worse.its now spluttering and missing slighly when it starts ,im kinda hpoing it packs up alltogether so at least i can pinpoint the fault.

gonna go to german and swedish tomorrow ,so fingers crossed

dont know if this is the same problem ,mine doesn't start then cut out with a flashing imoboliser it just wont start and when it does it stinks of fuel ,its also a late facelift model. i will take the coulum shroud off tomorrow and take a look .what excactly am i looking for??????

yeah ..had audi check for faults at the last service but they came up with nothing. seems to have got worse since then though. i dread starting it now i case it gives up alltogether,not what you want from a four year old car.
