Yea, I was talking to Chris from ECSTuning and he presented me with 3 different brands for replacement switches, all of which were very inexpensive. I will probably replace it soon just for peace of mind.

Ok, well I took the switch out and tested it with a multimeter and it seemed fine so I put it back in. Low and behold the brake lights work now... Do you guys think the switch is going bad or it was simply stuck?

Ok, so here's my problem: My brake lights do not work, but my tail lights, reverse lights, and blinkers all work fine. The odds of all 4 bulbs in the tail lights, plus however many are in the 3rd brake light in the hatch going out at once are slim to none. The fuse in the dash is fine...

The manual says every 80,000 miles, but I prefer to change the belts on any car ever 60,000 miles. I believe all VW engines are interference motors meaning if the timeing belt breaks or the cam belt breaks you can ruin your valves.
