    Water pump not belt driven on 1.8TQS

    It's the V6 that has the cambelt driven water pump. The 1.8T is driven by the auxilary belt. I changed mine about 2 months ago, at 90,000 miles, and the impellar was about 45% perished.

    A very wise man once told me that modern cars should always be judged on their condition and recent history. Rarely is the mileage a factor. As for the interior, it's an absolute doddle to swap over and the leather is much harder wearing.

    Once I've finished my instal I will have about 1000 watts drawing a possible 100+ amps from my standard battery. My car is an A4 B5 1.8T and the battery does look, is, fairly small. Is there any reason why I couldn't install a larger battery, from a 2.8 30v for example? Would it affect the...

    Clutch problem

    As far as I know you're supposed to changethe flywheel at the same time as changing the clutch. I'm sure some one will be along soon to correct me though.

    I replaced mine from a breakers. 3 pounds plus VAT. They're over 80 quid from Audi and apparently they're on 4 weeks back order....

    I use Mobil 1. There are no signs of oil deposits in the exhaust or intake.

    1ltr every 10k miles sounds spot on. Mine is using about 1ltr every 600 miles not, as I assume you thought, 6,000. The car pulls well and there is no smoke at all from the exhaust, even when I rag it. Anyone know what the problem might be?????

    My 2.8 30v is drinking oil like a madman. For the past couple of months it has been getting through about 1ltr every 600 miles or so. Any other 2.8 owners have the same trouble? This seems excessive to me and there are definately no leaks......
