    Mk1 A3 - Race Car Build Thread

Funny you should resurrect this thread today! It was stripped, all the parts were sold and the shell went away to its new owner just yesterday!:blownose: The end of a chapter really, but as ever there's always another chapter. I've bought a 'cheap and cheerful' Clio, which will hopefully...

MK6 GTI Coming/Leaving home light problem?

Yes I'm sure there were. I cleared them, and forgot about them. I'll need to check them again and come back to you!

MK6 GTI Coming/Leaving home light problem?

Anyone able to help with coming home/leaving home lights? I'm having a bit of bother with them. The car is a 2009 Mk6 GTI. The coming home and leaving home lights used to work, and for some reason they don't any more. VCDS coding was changed a long time ago for rain closure which works now, but...

Unfortunately not, been busy recently! Got a job at a place called HQ Garage, we have a 4WD Rolling road, run a Time Attack Evo (just won Club Pro Class this year) and do a lot of performance tuning, so it's a pretty awesome place to work: https://www.facebook.com/HQgarage/ That, and...

    Track/Hillclimb A3 1.8t

Looking good guys, interesting routing on the brake lines, be good to see some more pictures now it's complete. I'm going down the same (but slightly different) road with ours, hoses have arrived now and just need time to get to it all made up and fitted now!

They're the starting point that OBP generally supply for most race cars, based on a large upgraded multiple piston front caliper and a standard smaller rear. I know of a Corrado up here with the same (ish) setup who has recently changed cylinders and found it to be better, though I don't know...

Yeah I'm very impressed with the drawing too, price wise it's a fair lump. I've got a bit of a sponsorship deal in place with Goodridge, but it'll still not be massively cheap! At the moment, I'll to be going with the reccomended setup from OBP of a .625 to the front, .7 to the rear...

Et Voila: I can't take credit for the drawing, that's my dad's handywork, and ****** good it is too! Just need to get it ordered from Goodridge now!

Been pretty quiet here recently, but I tidied the garage last night, so can now get right round the car without bashing into stuff. Even went over the car with an old rag because it was very dusty! Then, tonight I was out in the garage waiting on someone collecting a Downpipe I had for sale...

Aye, I'm not afraid of a bit of modifying! I've never even met Nick, far less been in his car unfortunately! Watched various videos and followed the build closely though.

It's a turbo from a 2.0 TFSI engined car. The inlet and exhausts are on the opposite side from the turbo an original 1.8T engine but it's not an issue. Have a look, there are several cars running the same setup, Prawn's form example.
