I kinda guessed that miles remaining was more of a calculation, but generally it should run vaguely alongside the fuel guage needle too, shouldn't it??? Anywhoo, 5 days on and it's still all working perfectly. And I shall not be running the tank anywhere close to empty again if I can help it...

Well today I threw another 40 litres in the tank and it shot round to over 3/4 full on the needle and 400 miles on the range. Looks to be fixed then, at the moment... Phew.

When I switched off my ignition on Monday night, I apparently had 85 miles remaining in the tank, and the fuel warning light was on, on the dash. Next morning I switched the car on and it had dropped to 15 miles remaining... So I pootled about and it dropped to 10 miles remaining. I...

ahh, well luckily I don't have proper access to the sale section yet...

Been out today, giving my 2002 2.5 tdi Quattro avant a quick wash and polish over, so I can learn where all the bodywork issues are, and first thing I noticed is 'i' from the TDI badge is missing... Been having a look round and I see a full chrome set, and a set with a red 'i' so 1st question...

I'm not too fussed about the colour, and I couldn't afford to wait for a black or silver one that I'd have preferred. I don't like Auto's and so I was really limited. Plans...? hmmm, in an ideal world I'd go for a remap as I'm used to quick Japanese cars, and maybe some nicer wheels, but...

Thanks for the help, but... Sorry I'm gonna ask another dumb question, but how do I do that.. ? As for the keys, the car came with only one main key, and a black plastic spare.

Ahh, right, that clears up the stupidity from my side then.. :blush:, but it always defaults to the ECON light being on, is this normal behavour too? so just the other bit about the temp settings, and I'm laughing.. Sorry, I'm terribly new to this, what's VCDS?
