Mine did exactly this and the 3 30A fuses on the battery were the culprit. They didn't look too bad but had obviously got hot, cleaning up the contacts and replacing the worst (I only had 1 spare) cured it. Also cured my oil sensor fault for a little while, but thats re-occured so I'm guessing...

I'm 99% I've got a boost leak - I can hear the turbo spinning quite loudly but it's not translating into much extra power! I've rummaged around and the only perished hose I can find is the one on the top right of the intake manifold which I can't really figure out what it's doing - it runs off...

Food for thought, I'm seriously torn whether I want to throw money at mine and refesh/improve it given it's age/mileage, buy a newer one to keep for ages, or splash out on an 8P S3!

Nothing useful to add except I'm in the same boat after an engine change and was wondering exactly the same thing! On the basis I've seen posts saying 1 can is enough to top up 2-3 cars I'm guessing 2 cans might be needed?

My S3 is nudging 150k and I think still on it's original shocks - I've known the car since 85k and owned it since 100k and they've not been done in that time. It's starting to feel a bit uncontrolled over the bumps so time for new shocks I think... I know the default answer to this is H&R/B8s...
