Mine's an 02 plate with 73k on the clock so probs worth checking it out anyway mate. Just pull the cover off where the servo is located and if you see it the compartment full of water you need it sorting......

Hi Mate thanks for the reply, i just took it round to my mate who is a vag technician and he said it could be the brake switch which he replaced last month, he swapped it for a new one so hopefully this has no resolved it !
