Hi, My airbag light has randomly come on wile driving and I'm getting fault code 01217 - Side Airbag Igniter; Front Driver Side. Has anyone had this issue ? do the connection fail easy? or is likely to a need a new igniter? I know nothing about airbags so any help would be good. car is a 2001...

you need to scan it really , but at wild guess the maf sensor or ign amp , coils. . Have you serviced car recently oil, plugs filters etc? might be worth getting cheap fault code scanner off ebay may point you in the right dirrection.

No advisorys nothing, mot inspector even commented on its good condition. Even think it was reasonable on emissions co 0.029 hc 1ppm lambda 1.010 unless I understand it wrong the first are low figures and the last 1 is mid range.
