Pair of B6 A4 S-Line front bumper fog light grilles, which I previously had in my A4 B6 but I sold the car a while ago and just found a couple of things in a cupboard.
Both are in good condition but one has a broken clip at the back. I don't think I had any issues with them so they must have...
I had a bunch of spare coilpacks for my 3.0 ASN A4 B6, and used a couple of them in recent years, but I sold the car a while ago and just found these 3 hidden away.
They are also the same part for many other engines of a similar age (2001 - 2006 ish) and they are genuine OEM VAG parts.
I have 3...
well done mate. yeah, it's still a pain in the tits and in the end you could waste a day trying to get access without taking the front end off - and still not manage it... or spend the day taking the front end off, doing it properly and putting it all back together again.
bet you enjoyed your...
:)
I ended up taking off the sump and cleaning the oil pick up, changed the sensor too (you're right. not an ideal location). If I remember right I left the oil filter on because it was new, put everything back together again but the issue came back. So i drained the oil AGAIN (and kept it)...
If I remember right (it was a while ago) I did a lot of it by feel, and maybe shining a torch through whatever cracks I could at the front.
The 10mm ratchet spanner with socket adapter was an absolute lifesaver too because it lets you get into spaces that a full size ratchet probably won't.
I...
Cheers for the detailed explanation mate. I didn't realise the precise nature of the problem. I just gritted my teeth and paid £400 for a new one, which is winging its way to me now. I'm booked in for next monday to get it fitted by a VAg specialist/friend (so I'll lend a hand/get in the way and...
thanks for taking the time to list all of that, I really appreciate it,
My exhaust might be a pain in the *** since it's a Milltek with the centre sections welded to the rear sections. Plus, I had my main cats replaced with a pair of S8 cats I was given for free. The downpipes are a f*cking...
Thanks mate. Is it a case of dropping the whole gearbox out to change the clutch/flywheel, then lift it back up again? I've only dropped a whole engine and gearbox, then fitted the whole lot to another car (an S2) but I've never changed a clutch or flywheel. As much as I could do without the...
yeah, after lifting it up and listening with my VAG specialist friend we reached the same conclusion. ahhh f*ck.
So now I need to find a flywheel and fork out for 4 to 6 hours of work to fit it. I don't see this as a job I can do on axle stands, but i'm going to look into it anyway.
For future reference, for anyone else who needs to tackle this job, you don't need to take the shield off from above the driveshaft. If you take off the front left wheel and get down low, you will just be able to see the sensor to the front of the driveshaft and up a bit. If you're underneath...
I fitted a new speed sensor last year (Bosch part) and all was well until this morning, when I overtook a car and things went a bit lumpy. The EPC light came on, followed by the EML. I stupidly stopped the engine when I was dropping my wife off and it wouldn't start again. I had a code scanner...
