2.5 tdi coolant temp sender location ?

Anybody shed any light on the location of the coolant temp sender that (ultimately) feeds the temp dial on the instrument cluster ? I haven't specifically looked but it's a dense engine bay and if somebody happened to know where it was . . . t'would save some time. Think I have an electrical...

    2002 A6 2.5 TDI G65 Pressure Switch Failure / Access

Just an FYI for reference . . . I had the ECON light failure on my A6 with no aircon, VAG-COM showed G65 sesor not reading (short/open circuit) and a pressure test showed plenty system pressure . . . On this car the G65 is on the RHS of the condenser, underneath the RHS headlight and behind...

    c-locking issue

No resolution to this as yet but VAG-COM has revealed what appear to be incorrect lock feedback signals from the rear offside door . . . confirming the fault codes (VAG-COM - very good - first real time I've played with it in anger) . . . time to strip the door and the lock and see what gives ...

Flashing Immob Light of Death . . .

thanks gents, there's a friendly face at the stealership so I'll see what he wreckommends - he knows I don't do dealers apart from parts . . . If I could get the reader coil off the ign barrel without damaging it then I'd just change that . . . without risking damage I'm not sure how to do that...

    02 A6 drivers door handle

Drivers door handle on my A6 seems not to be operating the latch mechanism correctly - sometimes the latch doesn't operate until you pull the handle all the way to it's stop, sometimes it seems ok . . . the inner door handle works normally all the time, is this a common issue . . . before I pull...

Flashing Immob Light of Death . . .

Girlfriends R plate A3 has developed the flashing immobiliser light of death on occasion, I removed the steering wheel cowl and fiddles with the reader coil connector which was loose, but this hasn't cured it so have sourced a new ign barrel and reader coil unit . . . which comes with 2 new keys...

    A6 2.5 TDI '02 Manual - Gearboxes

Just a quick follow up, despite there being absolutely no symptoms with the weight of the car off the wheels the offside front wheel bearing was well gone . . . the bearing fell to bits once removed from the car and I started trying to press the hub out . . . While I'm at it . . . manual...

    A6 2.5 TDI '02 Manual - Gearboxes

Thanks for that, I'm planning on taking this one to 250K like my old '100 . . . we'll find out tomorrow morning when it all comes to bits . . . I've optomistically bought a wheel bearing kit . . . I hope I need it ;-) Fd

    A6 2.5 TDI '02 Manual - Gearboxes

Tyres ? Eh . . . No . . . The noise is road speed related and may (I hope) be starting to sound worse when cornering one way (I hope - because that's probably a wheel bearing). Whether removing the 'box is a 5 minute or 5 day job is not really relevant, if it's fscked it'll need to come out...

    A6 2.5 TDI '02 Manual - Gearboxes

Are the 6 speed manual boxes on these cars generally reliable ? My car has an increasing speed related drone and I can't find any wheel bearing that is obviously noisy . . . concerned it may be a final drive/diff bearing failure. Gearbox function is as it always has been not the slickest on...

    Workshop Manuals

Interesting - cheers - I'll have to ask them . . . The way I look at it is this . . . at the current dealer labour charges - a hundred quid for a manual which means I never, ever need to use a dealer . . . is a bargain . . . I'm used to running cars to 1/4 million miles or more, once I buy...
