    S3 2019 TPMS

Thanks chaps, the valve necks are rubber so I think it’s safe to say the system is indirect and has no sensors.

    S3 2019 TPMS

Hello all, just bought the wife a new S3 and want to fit some winter rims/tyres. Can’t seem to get a definitive answer on whether the TPMS system is direct (using wheel sensors) or indirect (using ABS to sense differential rotational speeds), does anyone here know if the car has sensors? Thanks...

Engine oil spotted around the sump and on the gearbox.

    DSG gearbox failure, possible repair

An update about my DSG problem. I wrote to the Audi UK MD and explained that a non serviceable assembly like the DSG box should last the lifetime of the vehicle or it should be repairable, especially as the car has only covered 60K miles. To be fair to Audi they immediately took control of the...

    DSG gearbox failure, possible repair

I am living with the whine, however if the whine turns to trashed gearbox them it is a false economy, as it is it may be repairable at minimal cost , it won't be if it goes bang. Dave

    DSG gearbox failure, possible repair

Yes, it was done last month, but it does not misbehave in any way, shifts are fine, clutch take up is fine, it simply whines with a typical diff load up whine. Dave

    DSG gearbox failure, possible repair

I am in Milton Keynes, no issue with the mechatronic, just the transmission whine. I will investigate them, thanks . Dave

    DSG gearbox failure, possible repair

The DSG box on my wife's A3 has developed a whine which I am told is most likely the diff, the local Audi agent want > 5000 to replace the gearbox which seems like a lot of money on a 6 year old car. They tell me that internal parts for the 6 speed DSG are not available which seems contrary to...

h7 bulbs is there any out there!! show me youre pics

The issue with the wiper motor is supposedly caused by the high tension cables giving off interference, the kits that don't blow the motor have close coupled ballasts that don't have long unsheilded HT cables. The steel and ally wrapping shields the HT cables and reduces interference to a...

h7 bulbs is there any out there!! show me youre pics

I fitted a 55w Canbus HID kit to my wife's A3 a year or so ago, I wrapped the HT cables in steel over braid with a further aluminium over wrap with an insulation layer over. They work perfectly and have given zero issues with bulb out warnings or the wiper motor. Dave

TFSI head port slots modifications with no JB Weld..

Not actually seen the Turbos, but the majority were S3 engines so I guess the K04 turbo. Dave

TFSI head port slots modifications with no JB Weld..

:) I've done a few Audi heads for engines installed in Elises, there is plenty of Improvement to be had and on the exhaust manifold pre-turbo. Dave

TFSI head port slots modifications with no JB Weld..

Cosworth regularly used Devcon epoxy for filling in anomalies in ports, with correct keying and application it is very effective on the induction side. Looks to me like the valve throat/ insert could use some work, there is quite an undercut there at the point of maximum charge velocity. Dave

    DSG Driveshaft removal

Usual method for CV removal is to put the joint at maximum deflection and tap smartly on the outer casing in a downward direction with a heavy hammer while holding the shaft, this should compress the inner wireclip and allow the joint to slide off the shaft. It can take a few goes but usually...
