    OSF Window lifter cable snapped

Hi, Tried to open my driver side window the other day only to find it wouldn't budge. I took the door card off to find a snapped lifter cable. I'd like to know if I can just replace the cable with a new one, which I can't seem to find any where, or do I need to buy the whole lifting unit...

    A3 rear seat removal

Just make sure to mask up the plastic on either side where the seat belts hang as they scratch very easily. You'll need a bit of patiance and plenty of jiggling to free them from the inner bracket, they do go back in a lot easier tho.

    1999 A3 ICE upgrade

Thanks for the info guys.. Mounting together isn't really an option for me. It's all going to be passive, any recommendations for a 4 channel amp to suit my focal 165 K3s? At a resonable cost of course. Cheers

    AMSOiL

Know what you're saying.. I've got 10 liters of the stuff sat in my shed right now. Just not sure if it will do some serious damage useing it. Read several places that this is the stuff to use but after seeing how watery it is I'm not so sure.

    AMSOiL

Just a quick question... Is it wise to use 5W-30 AMSOiL in an A3 1999 1.8T taking into consideration the mileage 124K? It conforms to the VW 500.00, 501.01 and 505.00 standards. It does seem rather watery though. Cheers Digga

    1999 A3 ICE upgrade

I've just bought my self some Focal PolyKevlar 3 way component speakers (2x 6.5" 2x 5" & 2x 1" tweeters + crossovers and speaker adapters) with a Becker Traffic Pro HIGH SPEED 7820 HU powering it all. Now I'm fairly sure my HU wont be able to power these speakers fully so, an amp will be needed...

    Knocking at the rear

hmmmm... thanks for the replys peeps.. You've certainly given me some food for thought.. Thought it could be my rear off side suspension strut as it doesn't rebound after pushing it down as quickly as the near side and it gives quite a squeak (bushes?).It's not my exhaust either, I'll have to...

    Knocking at the rear

Only had my A3 1.8T for just over a month but I've started to notice a knocking sound coming from the rear of my car.. Sounded like something in the boot rattling about, removed everything from the boot to make sure, still knocked. It only happens over small bumps in the road, going over a large...

IMPORTANT ALL READ. Rusting bottom of doors, when will it be yours?

Oh, how i wish I'd found this forum before buying my A3.. There's two screws holding the door trims on, both of these on mine have rusted. I'm unable to remove the screws without destroying them, which I'm going to have to do as I can see the paint starting to bubble above the trim on my drivers...
