I have a generic OBD2 cable(not KKL) that should be able to read some basic info, will try this first and see if any faults are flagged. If not will do as mentioned above about pulling the clutch switch off and joining the connectors. Thanks for the help all :D

Good idea, had already thought about it. 80k cars with the facelift and leather, still seem to go for about this kind of price bracket any way. Only cheap car ive seen was a 2000 facelift with 95k miles, but pretty poor spec for 6k.!
