    Potential B8.5 S4 Avant buyer

Really helpful, thanks. Probably a little less room than they're used to in the current car, but plenty for a good few years yet. I've read a few people doing the carplay units, might look at that in time - but will see how we get on with the 3G plus to start with. Looking forward to it now...

    Potential B8.5 S4 Avant buyer

Good to know re the super sports seats. Not sure of the build date, will find out once delivered. It was first registered in August 2013 though. The s-tronic was serviced by Audi before the 38k mark, and have asked the selling garage to do the supercharger belt before sale as that will be due...

    Potential B8.5 S4 Avant buyer

Thanks for the reply, buying remotely has made it a bit more difficult to gauge the rear leg room, so that's helpful. Also all the images dealers take seem to be with the front seats right back, making the rear look even tighter. Main problem now is convincing the Mrs that getting something 2...

    Potential B8.5 S4 Avant buyer

I'm currently mulling over a B8.5 S4 Avant, as a family car to replace a 2015 Passat estate - so a big hike in performance, but stepping back a bit in terms of interior space and tech. The car I'm looking at has the super sport seats, just wondering how much they reduce the space in the rear...

When did the 8P receive it's various updates?

I’m still not sure what mileage I’m likely to be doing, but as I’m planning on this car being a long term addition with some family duties no doubt included, I can’t help but think that the 20-25mpg on the 3.2 will start to be a little frustrating. As much as I’d enjoy the smoothness...

When did the 8P receive it's various updates?

Cheers mate, yeah conscious of the tax issue with the 3.2. Whilst the heart says yes on the V6, the head will probably say no on a fuel consumption basis. Would ideally not want to spend more than 10 to 12k, which according to Parker's should get me in a something around an 08 but the dealer...

When did the 8P receive it's various updates?

Hi guys Pressing on with my research ahead of what will hopefully be a June/July purchase of either a 2.0T or 3.2 Quattro Sportback. I'm trying to figure out when the Sportback went through its various updates, and to figure out what the details of each update were. I've tried a search...

Modifying S3 Sportback to look standard

Ha ha appreciate it might not be the right demographic to be asking this to but was just interested to know what would be involved in terms of swapping stuff over. Reckon it could be done relatively inexpensively given the interest there'd likely be in the S3 parts. I know the S3 is rather...

Modifying S3 Sportback to look standard

Good points mate, was more intrigued by the ease with which it could be done. 2.0T Quattro with a map, exhaust and revised suspension would probably be cheaper and not far off standard S3 specs I suppose.

Modifying S3 Sportback to look standard

Having decided on an A3 Sportback, preferably a 2.0T Quattro, I've been mulling over the thought of increasing the budget and getting an S3 but then making it look standard on the outside. Madness I hear you all shout! However, it's going to be something I keep for a while as hoping to...

The trusty A3 with problems! Could it be supermarket fuel?

Not sure about supermarket fuel causing excessive noise or the white smoke, but I would certainly recommend using nothing but premium unleaded from shell, BP etc rather than supermarket fuel especially in a mapped car. Supermarkets may share fuel in a geographic area but they won't be sharing...

    New A3

About time! Obviously taking cues from the current A4 and A1. Still looking forward to picking myself up a well refined late 8P sportback.

    A3 Sportback - 2.0TFSi or 3.2 V6

Cheers guys. I would definitely be going for quattro in the 2.0T and having had the Mk V GTi I have a good idea of what the KO3 turbo'd engine is like. I enjoyed and think it's a great all rounder for a daily car. Something about the 3.2 just seem to lure me in though. Interesting to hear what...

Great advice Paddy and Ju, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks

    A3 Sportback - 2.0TFSi or 3.2 V6

Thanks for all the comments guys. Just going back to my OP, I really want something that is a little more understated than an S3. Plus they're significantly more than an equivalent aged 2.0T at the moment and I don't want to spend that much on something that'll turn in to a family mobile after a...
