got talking to audi again today and the said the part no. for the two heads (amk&bam) are the same, happy days.

so the head with the BAM code would be the same as my AMK. Just making sure before i buy it. cheers.

I`ve got and 01 210bhp S3 engine code AMK. The cylinder head is cracked so I need a replacement. The problem is I have located two S3 heads with engine numbers BAM and APY. Is the head any different on these as my car is an AMK? I have rang audi but the parts guy did`nt know!

Could possibly your head gasket is gone. Check the underside of the oilcap for white mayo-type looking stuff. The same thing happened me a couple of weeks ago and it was that the gasket was gone but the water was leaking into a cyclinder, and that went on to a hot turbo causing it to crack badly...

Mine often comes on when your really pushing it in damp conditions, it also cuts the power in some cases.

I use 95 octane in my MTM remaped S3 but I use miller octane booster to help get it up to 97. Would use 97 at the pump but it`s very hard to get it in Ireland.

add the spoiler and bin the wiper. Should look even better with the coilovers.

Thanks guys, sometimes the gf( ) drives the car, thats why am afraid the turbo may not get a chance to cool down. I`l just have to bar her from driving it.
