Mine is also bluefined. Its 185bhp and i had it done down at the superchips HQ. Definitely recommend them as their service was spot on. Transformed my A3. But i must say i think i get about 1-2mpg less than before, but then i do drive faster now :)

I asked exactly the same question. They told me that the ECU stores the vehicle's VIN number and the file they remap uses your VIN number when it is written back. If the code doesn't match the car won't start. Also the Bluefin box is locked to that VIN number. How true this is, I don't know...
