Hi Firestorm, Nice post. What size of alloys are on your car? I have same car, TDI Avant SE, and have fitted 18" RS6 reps, I always fancied lowering but did not want to turn a smooth running car into a bone rattling one. The roads up here can be pretty poor and as for those damn speed bumps...

I forgot to ask if anyone knows of any deals on locking wheel nuts. The standard lock nuts that are fitted don't look that complex. I believe the McGard ultra lock nuts have good rating.

I've gone ahead and ordered a set of 18" RS6 reps with mid range tyres, (Kuhmo's) £549 inc nuts, badges and fitting. Getting them fitted tomorrow. I'll see how they look before I decide to alter the suspension, although I've already enquired about Eibach springs. Wife is showing signs of concern.

Thanks for the info dave. Its funny you should relate this glow plug lamp with the brakes, as the day before the lamp came on I had just changed the right brake bulb. The new bulb has blown again since, third time this year. I'm going to change the bulb again and monitor the glow plug lamp...

The glow plug lamp flashed on once when I was stuck in traffic, it cleared itself and has never come back on. No idea what caused it. I'm going to monitor it next time i'm in traffic to see if it reoccurs. Will let you know.
