I've not tried that, actually! I'll give that a go later and see if it has any effect. I did notice when I was connecting them that there was a 'pop' from the rear speakers so something was definitely happening.

I don't know... I'm not really that mechanical but i would imagine that there would be some effect on performance if it was turbo related, but the car feels fine.

Haha, sorry to disappoint! I should also mention that I tried driving with the air-con and blower turned off and the noise still happens. Could it be a loose turbo pipe or something? I think I'll get it booked in for investigation.
