02 sport 5 gears, IIRC wierd thing is according to parkers the mpg is worse for the 6 speed! I never feel like i'm lacking a gear, there's enough town shifting as it is. chas

they do seem to be pushing it at the mo. Had about 15 calls of them in the space of a week, mostly silent, spoke to one person who asked why i left them (to go to freeview) i sad sky+ was too expensive, she said, i can offer free sky +, I stopped listeng, apart to say "too late, got a hummy!" so...

flat spot at 1500, thats a design feature of turbo diesels :) , just keep it over 1600, especially when pulling out onto busy roads, come on come on come on then wooooshh. chas

have you had a problem with a flat battery recently? i jump started my A4 and despite it being 3/4 full, the DIS said o miles, the gauge said empty and the low fuel warning beeped. diconnect the battery for 10 mins for it to reset itself and all OK. chas

As it says, hints on changing the battery in a B6 Tdi. Tools: 6mm hex socket, 10mm spanner, 3/8" extension bar for hex socket, large flat spanner. Teh battery is held in a by a 6mm hex bolt, its at the front of the battery in the middle, between the battery and the bulkhead. there is a strut...

Have a good look at the avant, I bought one a year ago expecting to have a family, that happened 5 weeks ago ! havn't been on any big trips away, but the pram chassis and the carry cot sit side by side on the floor of the estate, you've got the flexibility of height with the avant. its not...

AND the demister goesw into recirc mode so you don't get the smell of screen wash, only that horrible musty smell that they package in the air con system instead. But I will be fixing that at the w/e. chas

just a thought, would it be easier to put a 130PD 4cyl engine in?, same size block / engine mounts?? then chip it to above the 2.5tdi output. i think for straighforward performance the 1.9 130 is a better bet than the 2.5..lighter and PD. but more refinement with the 6 cyl.. keep us posted Chas
