I had a problem in my 99 A3 where the rear high level brake light would work intermittently. It turned out it was a loose connection in the bulb checking unit. Might be worth getting someone to check connections for you?
The secondary airpump is used to get the CAT up to temp on a cold start. On my Skoda it goes for almost exactly one minute, with revs at 1200, then drops to 1000 and the pump goes off, and engine sounds a lot happier and quieter.
I had mine checked by the dealer and they said it did seem a...
It's the solenoid on the starter motor - when they start to fail, they don't pull the starter arm away from the flywheel fast enough, which is why you get a very nasty high-pitch whirr (almost a scream!) when this happens.
Classic symptom is that it only happens when starting from cold.
Some...
I thought people had said that when the Revo trial expires that it "reverts" to something that may not be the same as what you originally had, and that the settings it reverts to actually seem worse than what you had before the trial?
I thought there had been mention that slightly lifting the handbrake causes the haldex to disable (I assume this disengagement is something controlled by the ECU)? Just wondered if that is anything to do with the "bang".
The only bangs I have heard on my cars when stationary have been when the...
I think there was a recall about 3 years ago, to get brake pipes replaced, but I'm not sure the problem was exactly as you describe. It would be worth making sure you had the recall work done though.

Well since you seem to be local to Guildford, I'll mention AHAutos&Sons on Slyfield (for general servicing) - a small place but specialises in Audi/VW and tells it straight.
I used there for most services when I had my A3 and will probably use them again with the Skoda.
I think AndyMac's stereo install instructions might cover this. I have a feeling that you might have to take back seats out... assuming you mean the panel that runs along the vertical sides of the boot - the panel with the hatches in that give access to cd player, rear light clusters, etc?
Try it on different pieces of road. When there are oily roads and a bit of rain, they can be like a skating rink.
There are certain roundabouts near me where a list mist of rain mean I can very easily get the whole car to drift with very little throttle, and other bits of road where everything...
