We moved from a 320d BMW to a 1.6 TDI Sport and we can definitely feel the difference...it wasn't about speed but MPG so we will have to get used to it...there's always the lotus for blatting about!

Collected in the rain, now safe in carport....

10.30 tomorrow for collection of my A3 sportback in black.....pics tomorrow evening, if I can work the pic format out for the forum!

My car arrived at the dealer yesterday (was build week 8). Sales person called to say I could collect on Thursday 14th March, then called back to say Saturday 16th as they could not release until the launch date....only a week to wait now. Of course I might go grab a peek today!

Mine was build week 8 and due at the dealer 2nd week of April...they called this morning and said it arrived at the dealer last night...prep next week and I go to collect on Thursday next week. Seems the delivery process post factory is efficient!....EDIT: now Saturday 16th as the dealer can't...

I think it depends on the car/manufacturer. I have not bedded in my previous diesels (Honda/BMW) and will not be with the new A3. On the opposite end of the scale, with my Lotus they void the warranty if you red line in the first 600 miles!

Two dumb audio questions (as my first audi has not arrived yet): 1. Does red/blue cable charge iphone? 2. Is there a max size of SD if I go that option? Cheers Ben (only a few weeks to wait now)

I feel there should be a TopGear which reviews cars, some you might be able to afford, and another called TopCrack where Clarkson + 2 prat about....I would watch both.

Was hoping to read the owners manual before my A3 sportback actually arrives...can't find one online anywhere. Anyone else managed to find one? (not interested in the workshop manual). Ben

I ordered an A3 1.6tdi sport sportback also for similar reasons to all you above I.e. fuel price, needing to drive slower and the fact my 3series BMW is a NIGHTMARE in the winter. I am now concerned at your comments on mpg....the 320d BMW quoted 56mpg and I get 50ish if careful so I was hoping...

This is a little strange as I ordered 1.6tdi sport (sportback) mid Jan and mine is build week 8, for delivery last week March or 1st week April. Dealer called Thurs to say it maybe earlier! They mentioned my spec I wanted was already scheduled except the comfort pack which could be added.
