So it turns out they company who worked on my engine did not adjust the timing correctly they have replaced the timing belt again with new tensioners and runs like a champ frustrated that they got it wrong but well it was covers by their warranty so no charge just inconvenience.
Mine had the engine striped cleaned including the egr valve I had the crank replaced.the valves rollers replaced new turbo new timing belt kit oil pump reconditioned basically a new engine but they said at first it was remap causing issues I have had this ruled out by my remaper he tested the...
Got mine back Wednesday but not so happy the car runs rough and seems to be drinking fuel like water taking it back tomorrow and see what they are going to do about it.
No the noise wasn't there when I picked it up it developed after 60 miles. they did road test the car but only a 10 mile run they have agreed that it is the engine at fault and will look at on Monday as it is nothing to do with the remap as the car was fine before the engine blew only developed...
Taking it to the guy who remapped it today then after that back to them as it I think its a mechanical issue as it was running fine for 60 miles then started to make this noise on my way home from work and only seems to be getting worse
Hi guys I have picked my car post engine rebuild and now it running rough and sounds like a tank the guys at the garage think it's the egr valve they cleaned it and reconnected but they seem to think that my remap is affecting it it sounds like a rubbing sound when I put my foot down and the...
Yes they probably will but they said after rebuild will need oil change after 500 miles then after 6000 miles but then refer to Audi standard service schedule will go through the small print with a fine tooth Combe but. Also have not given up with regards the bolt I sent it off to have it...
The car had done 189400 miles so probably the general wear on the crank and turbo. Yes I could get a recon engine but they would still need to replace the turbo as ancillaries are not normally supplied but hey guys doing my engine will offer a life time warranty when finished and zero mileage...
Wow this is getting expensive just been told I need a new crank they said it has exsessive float and play and a new turbo exsessive play in the shaft plus the valves replaced and while I'm there the oil balance shaft overhaul I just sold my wife's kidney on the bay and my last shred of decency...
So after some Audi missleading they now after origanly saying they would do the work under warenty to the point of saying my car was taken apart to now saying they won't do it under warenty claiming the bolt was over first to lose causing the tensioner to move then to say it was to tight causing...
Funny my tdi 170 just had the same Issue again a friend works for a main dealer did the work for me wonder if it's a dodgy parts batch as my bolt was replaced for a new one
The mechanic works for vw and had the correct torque setting and all the correct tools yes it will very hard to convince them but I have no other chioce I can't afford to pay for a rebuilt engine I'm **** creek with out paddle
Unfortunately no Audi didn't fit them but mechanic who works for vw but it shouldn't matter as its the part that failed so if a trained person fitted it and the part fails i think audi should be liable as their parts were substandard
