After fixing my mates 1.8t audi a3 2001 dodgy MAF sensor (busted by k&n 57i) and giving the motor a full service I'd like to know what's the best performance panel filter for it?

Cheers guys, I took a punt and first ditched the K&N for the original air box filter but it still didn't work so I got a new MAF and it's now working like a dream! So next question is what panel filter would be good.....??? Also now the car seems to running well I'm going to get a VAG COM done...

I'm confused I thought you had to pay for the software! Is there like a cut down free version and the £200 version has more features??

Right well the car is playing up again, same as before with the MAF connected it's running strangely. Would a replacement MAF sensor fix this or could it be something else? If I change the MAF is this likely to keep happening because of the K&N? Will running the car for now without the MAF...

Hi Just found out you can get a VAG COM cable for £10 to £20 but will this only work with the £200 software?

Also meant to ask more about this "charcoal chamber" I can't find anything online about it?? Basically there are two connections going into it and the back one is damaged somehow.
