Sounds vaguely familiar to me, Does yours gear change feel clunky between 1st & 2nd? Because Im also having problems with my gearbox too. Seems to be a little rattle when pulling away from maybe gear linkage and a small whine in second gear. I have always found mine worse when cold but thought...
I've not put it on a dyno yet to confirm this, but this is the gains produced by superchips remap. The 1.8tfsi is perfectly capable of producing this kind of power. The 120ps is the same engine and turbo as the higher powered 160ps version. It's just ecu map that is different.
It seems there is a difference of opinion on this subject, i think i will just report it as a warranty issue and see where it leads, i wont know otherwise. I had the car in for a service/inspection last year and never even mentioned anything about the remap. TBH i couldnt be without this remap...

Your are probably right mate, I'm not disputing that, but some dealers can be completely ignorant if you fettle with the car while it's still under warranty. Imo its just an excuse for dealers not to pay out for expensive repairs. I must admit though I cannot fault the service given at West...
I have a 60 plate audi a4 avant 1.8tfsi with 19k on the clock. Recently though ive started to notice when pulling away in 1st and sometimes when in 2nd gear, I get what appears to be a clunky/rattle coming from just under the gear stick (poss gear linkage but not 100% sure) is this a serious...
Spent the last 10 years in her majesty's Prison service :-(
Working of course, and not doing time although sometimes I feel I spent more time in a prison than some hardcore criminals lol
I have had my a4 remapped by superchips and im using a pipercross element filter in my 1.8tfsi seems to be whole lot better than the old paper one that was quite restrictive. Also given it a slightly louder induction noise only cost about £35 onlinr
I've had a look and appears I have option code 1BE. I'm a little confused because When put through the decoder it shows exactly the same description as 1BV is this the same thing or is it like u said the difference between that extra 10mm drop??
Thanks for the info, I didn't know they did a optional setup over the standard s line ride height. How would I find out if mine was specified from new? because it's quite hard to tell from just looking.
