Thanks for the replies will look out for these problems, my intentions were to get a 2.0l but I constantly keep reading problems about them from turbo problems to injector problem etc, but heard the 1.9 is a solid engine.

I'm looking to purchase a 1.9 tdi SB with around 100k on the clock, just wondering what stuff I should be looking out for? Does anyone know roughly when the timing belt/cambelt/oil and water pumps need to be replaced on these? Thanks

Thanks guys, when you say the facelift conversion what does that look like? Im tempted to go for the s3 bumper but ive heard they are hard to come buy and expensive but im glad the bonet wings etc dont need to be changed

From that To this? Would it be a straight swap, I know i'd have to purchase new grill inserts etc but is there anything else needed to swap it? Or is about the same job as 09 bumpers replacing the wings, lights etc?

Was looking at a3 sportbacks and came across some with no foglights, just wondering if the s-sline front bumper would still fit onto a standard sportback without fogs? Would it be a big job fitting fogs or should I just try and find one with fogs? Thanks

I've searched and searched and found only a3 3 door results! So theres no way an s-line sportback 8p3 front bumper from ANY year will not fit straight on? I'd have to change the bonet and wings etc even if it was an 06 s-line sportback 8p3 and ive got an 05 standard sportback 8p3? I've searched...
