License plate light works only when boot open

Latest update: Extended warranty declined. Although electronics is part of the warranty, wiring is not. This is apparently the case for majority of manufacturers and extended warranties. Anyways quoted £185+vat for the loom. They were generous and will barely charge me labour, perhaps 30mins...

License plate light works only when boot open

Went into audi today to get looked at. Currently they're trying to get extended warranty to approve. They claimed they would replace the entire loom and also agreed it should be covered under warranty. To my surprise, the loom is in slack when the boot lid is open and in full stretch when...

License plate light works only when boot open

Thanks Both. I'm hoping they don't question the reverse camera wiring although it runs down the other side of the boot lid and does not impact the reg lights in anyway but plan to try get this done under warranty and if they refuse then I'll have no choice but to do this myself. If I end up...

I finally booked my car in with Audi in Oct 19 (go away on holiday so will let them keep the car... free secure parking haha jk) under extended warranty so will report back what they find is the issue. What's this German message?

Pretty sure it's the shifter mechinism. Read there might be a TSB on it but will ring up and see if they'll put a new one in under extended warranty. Another owner has experienced this before on an RS3 and stated besides the error they had no issues. The message now comes up in English but...

    What's this German message?

Hi guys, Sorry for the delay. Didn't want to take to Audi under extended warranty as if they found nothing wrong, I would have been charged for the diagnostics. Managed to borrow mates VCDS. See below: (cleared and will scan again tomorrow) the only one I am aware that was present before was...

    What's this German message?

No idea why. Once before couple years ago I turned the car on and the MMI was all in German... turned car off and back on and was back in English . Unfortunately this error remains in German. Will take it to Audi under extended warranty to check it out and will post back findings.
