    I believe you can activate thing through your own DIS. Try flicking around and you should be able to select what you want for the 2nd set of info

    501 is just a bulb. push fit one. just search 501 on ebay. it might solve your problem of it switching off quickly.

    Check the earth? you might need to add a standard 501 to the wiring otherwise the car will switch these off quite quickly.
